Rebellion

I know it's been a long time since I posted, but I am going through a rebellious phase right now.

Just 6 weeks ago I was smugly patting myself on the back for having so much patience to do these long projects. I thought I had conquered myself. But, I was getting tired and I wondered about other areas of my life that were getting neglected because of it.

My daughter got a job recently and since we are sharing only one car in the household, this has disrupted the daily routine of my life. I've never seen anyone so happy to have a job though!

I'm not sure what direction I want to go in next with wire and jewelry, and due to some recent failures, my motivation is low.

I know that things will turn around again. After I regroup;)

  1. Mary, I wouldn't sweat it if I were you. ;) You have amazing skills. I think that every artist has a lull in creativity once in a while. I think it is a natural part of the process ... the moon waxes and wanes and the universe remains in balance. So too does our creativity - I think it's our Muses way of giving us some much needed rest before she cracks her glorious whips on our backs once again. I find that I move through phases of intense inspiration followed by a need to walk away from it all for a while. And without fail, when my Muse strikes again I find that she bring me another round of intense inspiration that usually includes what I consider to be a quantum leap of sorts in my work. You have just gone through a very intense phase. Look at all the wonderful things that you've created during that time. You accomplished fantastic feats! Enjoy your sweet repose and rest your creative spirit ... I am sure that before you know it your Muse will be prodding you forward into your next quantum leap, and I can't wait to see what you do when you get there. ;)

  3. Mary, I have missed you! I totally agree with everything Delia said..very well I might add. Your Muse will crack her glorious whip, what a great line, again soon. Sometimes, I do forget she does come back. Until then, enjoy your rebellion, catch up on life and be gentle with yourself. Happy to hear your daughter has a new job. Looking forward to seeing what is next! Christine
