Step by Step Wire magazine Feb/Mar issue is on the news stands today and I am published for the first time ever! Woohoo!!
You'll find the tutorial to make this copper locket in the magazine if you are interested. I will also have the locket up for sale on Etsy. The exact locket in the magazine is up for sale, however I did oxidize it with Liver of Sulpher as soon I got it back from the magazine. The LOS adds a rich depth that also brings a touch of vintage elegance to the design. In the days when I sent it off to the magazine I did not use LOS.
Thanks to so many of you, and especially to Irina http://taniri.livejournal.com/ I now love LOS, and especially on copper.

Congrats to you, that is wonderful!! I have had pieces in the gallery section several times, and I hope to do a tutorial for them someday! I shall pick up a magazine this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI already bought the new issues. Your tute is great and why dont you publish at etsy or JL. Anyways, congrats.
Hi Emi. I would publish the tut, but my contract with StepbyStep says they own the rights to the article, I think, for one year after publishing. So I could publish after one year.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any other tut's yet, maybe this year;)
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI just got around to reading my Step-by-Step Wire magazine and saw your fabulous locket was featured! It also pointed me to you blog. Yay and congratulations! :D
Best,
Sheridan (Joslin Jewels)
